Francesco Paolo Augusto Cali famed as Frank Cali and with the nickname of "Franky Boy" was an American crime boss of the Gambino crime family. Law enforcement considered Cali to have been the Gambinos' "ambassador to Sicilian mobsters" and had linked him to the Inzerillo Mafia family from Palermo. On 13th March 2019, Cali was killed outside his home on Staten Island. His death is being described by news reports as the first major New York gang and mob boss killing in more than 30 years. He became the acting boss of the Gambino crime family after then-Gambino boss John Gotti, “Dapper Don,” was convicted of murder and racketeering in 1992 and sent to prison for life.
