A professional basketball player who is playing for the current team, Houston Rockets of the NBA is named for Austin Rivers. His playing position is both; point guard and shooting guard. He became the first player in NBA history to play for his father, coach Doc Rivers of the Los Angeles Clippers on 16th January 2015. Starting off his career from Winter Park High School, he has reached a great height in his career. He led Winter Park High School to back-to-back Florida 6A state championships in 2010 and 2011. He has played in the 2011 Nike Hoop Summit for Team USA and was a McDonald's All-American as well. He earned the Naismith Prep Player of the Year and Florida Mr. Basketball his senior year at Winter Park High School. He committed to Duke University on 30th September 2010 and achieved national recognition after making a game-winning 3-pointer against Duke rival North Carolina in 2012. Being drafted with the 10th pick in the NBA draft by the New Orleans Hornets (now Pelicans), he was traded to the Clippers, traded to the Wizards in June 2018, and finally joined and playing for Rockets since December 2018. He was named Austin after former Cleveland Cavaliers guard Austin Carr, while his middle name, James, is in honor of his great-uncle Jim Brewer.
